Castle & Prehistoric Tours

June 4 | 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Enjoy a guided tour of Benedict Castle (the jewel of the Inland Empire) located in Riverside, CA . When Charles Benedict decided to build “Castillo Isabella” he had in mind a castle residence like those he had found in Europe. His merging of Spanish Moorish & Mission Revival architectures is found throughout. Noted Architect Henry Jeckel, perhaps best known for the exquisite Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, serve as the chief architect on the Castle project which was constructed over the course of 9 years starting in 1922.

We will have lunch at the Souplantation, the it’s off to the Western Science Center. THe WSC is a $60 million dollar museum complex and home to a fascinating array of history and Ice-Age beasts that were unearthed right in Diamond Valley Lake, near Hemet. On your self-guided audio tour, visit the 270 degree movie screen that shakes and shifts in sync with the feature film.
