Day 1 – Honoring the historic contributions of African Americans, this tour promises to be both moving and memorable. On this travel day, we recommend that you absorb the beauty of the nation’s capitol, Washington DC, as we head over to the Holiday Inn Capital hotel – Washington DC. This centrally located hotel is where we will lodge for the next three nights.

Day 2 – Be sure to enjoy breakfast before we head over to the White House Visitor Center, followed by a White House photo-op. Our next stops include Howard University, U Street, the Anacostia Community Museum. After lunch, we visit the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site, which honors one of our true American forefathers. During your evening free time, consider stopping by the Howard Theatre or Georgetown, where Blues Alley is located.

Day 3 – This day will etched in your heart and mind as we begin our day traveling to The National Mall, known as America’s Front Yard. Our most inspiring visit is to the new National Museum of African American History and Culture. With a planned 3 hour stay, you will have time to read, view and absorb much of this museum’s offerings. Our next visit will be the Martin Luther King and Lincoln Memorials. This day truly engenders an appreciation for those courageous individuals who made a difference in our history. Our day ends with a delicious farewell dinner
amongst new friends.

Day 4 – On our final day in DC, we will view the Mary McLeod Bethune House, the African American Civil War Memorial, Malcolm X Park and the historic AME Church. Then it’s off to the airport for your flight home where you will relish the memories and experiences of this legendary city.
