Studies have found that dancing provides social and cognitive benefits in addition to physical benefits. The exercise increases the brain chemicals that assist in the growth of nerve cells. While you are learning new dance steps the brain power boost helps improve memory skills. Dancing can also reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Other benefits include improved balance/coordination, increased stamina, improved self-confidence and bone density, as well as a reduction in heart disease and stress/tension.
